Saving Hardwood Floors Following Water Damage in Mobile, AL

When water damage strikes, times is always the most critical factor in minimizing damage and salvaging materials.  When this home in Mobile, AL flooded they immediately called SERVPRO of Mobile County to come take care of the damage.  We arrived on site, ready to go and immediately began the mitigation process.  There are certain flooring materials that can not be saved after water damage.  Hardwoods however, like these in the picture can sometimes be salvaged depending on a number of factors.  In the before photo you can see that the floors had started "cupping". This is when the sides of each plank lift and are higher than the center of the plank.  Our IICRC Certified Water Restoration quickly went to work drying the flooring.  As you can see in the after picture, they succeeded in making the floors lay flat again and making it truly "Like it never even happened."
