Finding Hidden Water Damage in Your Mobile, AL Home or Business

Having water damage in your home isn’t always as dramatic as a pipe exploding with water gushing everywhere.  Sometimes the most significant and costly water damage scenarios are those that you aren’t even aware of…  A fridge next to a wall, dripping pipes underneath cabinets or walls, or roof damage in the attic can all cause extensive damage because they occur out of sight.  If you can’t see the water slowly leaking, it can go on for extended periods of time before any damage becomes noticeable.  Although it can be difficult to spot, we want you to be armed with the knowledge that could stop a small problem from becoming a huge issue.  If not pinpointed and mitigated it a timely manner, mold growth may become an issue.  Here are a few telltale warning signs of concealed water leaks:

  • Water accumulation in unusual locations.
  • Discoloration on ceilings or walls.
  • Changes in the texture in your flooring (warping, buckling, expansion or sinking).
  • Odors – mold and mildew can be a good indicator that you have a moisture problem.

If you suspect a moisture issue at your home or business, call SERVPRO of Mobile County.  Our IICRC Certified Water Restoration Technicians have the skills and equipment to quickly and easily locate any moisture issues within your home or business.
